Mastering Excel: New Keyboard Shortcut Learned

by Megan Taylor on December 3, 2014

There are some people who love keyboard shortcuts and use them all the time. There are other people who are ambivalent about keyboard shortcuts, don’t usually use them, and therefore can’t remember them.

I fit firmly in the the first category. Keyboard shortcuts make me really happy, and I think they make me more efficient. Every so often, I stumble across a new one that solves a problem and it delights me.

Excel keyboard shortcut I figured out today: Ctrl+Left Arrow+Delete

What it does: It’s actually a combination for Ctrl+Left Arrow, which moves you to the front of a group of numbers or letters and the Delete key which, well, deletes things.

Why it’s useful: I’m using it to clear the search box in the Find and Replace window. Very handy if you’re searching for a great number of things that you have to type in manually (which I am).

Other uses: Not sure yet, but you can bet I’ll be trying it out.
